ALL 12 POSITIONS IN AN EASY TO UNDERSTAND FORMAT
Dan Cottrell
For those starting out in their career (and for many already playing) the roles can be confusing.
That’s where my Rugby Positions Made Simple guide comes in really handy. Each page covers a position in an easy to understand, simple format. You can print off as many as you like for your players to refer to, or to put up on noticeboards.
There are 12 sheets in all, each one explaining the specific role that each position must play in a game.

All players need to be fit, as well as being good handlers and tacklers – but individual positions play vastly different roles and you need to tailor your coaching to get the best out of every player.
Scrum-halves dart around, probing, and passing off the ground
Hookers need to throw straight, strike the ball, and scrummage hard
Flankers must attack, be first to the breakdown and scavenge
Full-backs have to be cool under pressure, and jump for the high ball.
