Using tic-tac-toe as a distractor, give kid a work out with this traditional game with loads of fitness adaptions. Trystan and Sam, Dylan and Mark gives us their variations. Both dads (that’s Mark and Sam) said that their son’s didn’t notice they were doing some conditioning, they loved the game more!
Countdown once the kid has placed their marker, so they have to return after their fitness exercise or lose their turn.
Add some more boxes to create a grid so the players have to make a line of four.
Use playing cards instead, and play memory pairs. All the playing cards are spread out in a grid upside down. The player turns over one card. If the next card turned over is in the same colour and has the same number, then they get that pair, and try again. If not, they run off to do an exercise and then come back. Time them to see how many pairs they can do in a time limit. For younger players, cut down the deck of cards (say 10 pairs). If they complete the pairs inside the time limit, guess who does a forfeit!
