Passing practices need to improve your players quickly, while challenging them and keeping training enjoyable.
1. Passing lines
Put players into teams of four. Spread the teams out in a line across a 10m wide area. The ball starts at one end. On your whistle, the ball is passed along the line and then back the other way, with the players standing still. Check their technique and feedback on how to improve.
Next, challenge the players with passing races. Or, set a time limit and see if the lines improve their scores after several attempts.
2. Working in pairs
Instruct two players to run shuttles across a 7m square box. Stand two players at cones on the side of the box to pass and receive.
As the first pair run through the area, the ball is passed to one of them, to pass on to his partner, who passes it on again to the stationary receiver. The next pair then repeats the exercise.
