With this fast-paced activity, you can work on lots of short passes and the timing of the support runner, who takes the ball at pace.
Make giving short passes a good habit while encouraging the next player to run on to the ball at pace.
Two balls.
Stand holding a ball while facing a passer. Three players stand 3m to 5m behind the passer. Another player is behind you, holding another ball. Hand or short pass your ball to the passer - they pass to their left, to the player running from the front of the line. You watch the pass (comment if necessary) and then take the next ball from the player behind you. The player taking the initial pass runs behind you, replacing the player stood there. That player then runs to the back of the line of players awaiting passes. Repeat the process - work 10 passes to the left and 10 to the right, before swapping the passer. Develop by popping the ball to the passer so they have to adjust their hands.
The player behind you gives you the ball for the next pass
The player who was behind you runs to join the queue
