Set-up
Three cones in a one-metre line.
What you get your players to do
Put two players touching distance apart, with the cones acting as a mid point. The players battle to have their hips past the cones while staying on their feet. Allow five seconds. If the players collapse, then restart.
Look for
The players keeping square – shoulders and hips in line. Short steps. Driving up, not down – eyes looking forward.
Development
Start the players on their fronts. Start the players in press-up position (front support). Put a ball in between the players which must not be touched.
Notes
Swap over players rather working in the same pairs for too long.
Both players stand touching distance apart.
The players engage and try to drive themselves over the line.
The winner is the player on his feet with his hips over the line. Stop if no resolution after five seconds.
