As we start to get back to training, we need a range of games and activities which will suit the latest regulations. However, they also have to be purposeful. That means they can be used throughout the season.
One of our most popular games has been Ray Smith’s Cannonball Run. Using rolled up socks for missiles, there’s a great mix of fun and go-forward skills in this game.
Geraint Davies, head coach at Nuneaton and experienced across all levels of the game, has given us alternative ways to use popular games and activities. Use Pogo Passing as a skills breakout session. He’s been using it as a recovery exercise during a fitness block.
Another in-demand game comes from David McGuigan. A social distancing take on Rugby Rounders has proved to be the go-to choice for his team.
Finally, one from me: Pythag Passing. The players work on changing their angles to give and take passes. Again, an ideal skills breakout activity.
