Get two players on their knees and perpendicular to one another.
The player with the ball shuffles forwards on their knees in a straight and continuous line, just inside the cones.
The tackler starts facing the same way as the ball carrier, but ahead of them.
On your command, the tackler rounds the first cone and times his tackle on the ball carrier.
On contact, the tackler should aim not to flop down, but try to shuffle 1-4 more knee-steps and drive the ball carrier off balance and outside of the cones.
DEVELOPMENT
Players can do the same exercise in longer channel but increase the speed by moving up from walking-jogging-running-sprinting as their technique, success and confidence improves.

Tacklers’ cheek (face) in constant contact with the ball carrier’s cheek (backside) at all times. The head must behind the ball carrier’s body.
