Challenge attackers to react to different defensive positions. Feeding to varied starting players, the attack must adjust to win a 3v2.
Create scenarios for your attackers to react to different defensive positions. By feeding the ball to different starting players, the attack has to adjust quickly to win a 3v2.
A 22m x 15m area and two balls.
Activity: Three players start at one end of the channel. Throw the ball to one of them; they must beat the two defenders opposite to score. Use touch tackling.
LARGE GROUPS & ONE COACH
With up to 10: Run one square, with four defenders at one end. They work in pairs and rotate every go. The other players will rotate as attackers. After two minutes, swap the defenders for attackers.
With more than 10: Run two squares, almost next to each other. You stand in the middle. This time, use six defenders, in three pairs. One pair works in one box and, when they have finished, move to be ready to work in the next box. Split the attackers in half; they always work in the same box. Pass the ball into one box, see what happens and then turn to work in the next box. After two minutes, rotate attackers and defenders.
Development: Get defenders to come in from different directions, not head-on.
Pass to the first attacker
They can use a miss pass or a short pass
Pass to the middle attacker
