Use this session to allow players to play with their heads-up in attack, so not only do they identify the space, they can then execute the skills to exploit it.
This whole-part-whole session will help the players appreciate the detail of the right skills to use so they can score more tries in the game scenarios.
Two 15m boxes, side by side, with two balls, plus extra cones.
GAME SCENARIO
Split into three groups of around five players each. One group defends, the other two groups attack in each box.
One of the attackers from each group becomes the feeder, and stands by a ball 5m into the box. The defenders spread out across the boxes, 5m away from the feeder.
The feeders release the ball and the attackers aim to score at the far end. If they are touched they have two seconds to pass the ball. The attempt finishes after a try or an infringement.
Restart both groups together again, but swap boxes.
After that, rotate the groups.
TECHNICAL SECTION
Run straight.
Pass hard, so the ball can beat the defender.
Run hard onto the pass.
