A drill that will improve the depth and timing of support players when the ball carrier gets half-held so the attack keeps going forward.
Attackers get used to passing immediately they are tackled or grabbed while support players get into position to take the ball.
A 12m x 3m box, one ball.
Put three defenders in a line at 6m intervals inside the box, facing four attackers. The first attacker runs to the side of the defender, who aims to grab but cannot move to do so. Whether or not the attacker is grabbed, they pass to the next attacker. Attackers work their way up the corridor until they reach the far end. The attackers then turn when they reach the end and repeat when all the players are reset. Develop by having a player only pass when they are actually grabbed or tackled.
