Forces players to push their passes hard towards the target, improving accuracy and pass strength. One group aims to intercept with their own ball (the ‘skeeter’).
This activity encourages hard passes to a target, creating better passing habits.
Two balls between four players. A box, with the size depending on the skills of the players – for example, a 5m box for less experienced players.
ACTIVITY: Set up each pair as in the top illustration. The passers pass the ball to each other, while ‘skeeters’ aim to intercept the pass by hitting it with their own ball. If the ball is intercepted, they get three points. If the ball is not intercepted, the passers get one point. The skeeters get a bonus point if they catch their own pass. The passers cannot throw until the skeeters are ready, but they can dummy the pass if they want. Play until either side reaches 10 points. Note: The more looped the pass from the passers, the more chance it will be intercepted.
